1. There is a sizable gap in the Porsche lineup between the 718 (new 914?) and the 911. Maybe put the 718 S engine in the 911 to make a new 912?

2. Is there room for a new 928? It could borrow a lot from the Panamera. With a small TSI engine and a lot of batteries it could be a post dieselgate EV and an i8 competitor.

3. Would a sub-718 (new 924/44/68) damage Porsche’s brand image? A rear wheel drive liftback could fit between the GTI and the 718, and it could use a GTI engine.

4. None of this is possible because dieselgate.

I was thinking the same thing with Subaru. Put a BRZ engine in an Impreza, and place it between the regular Impreza & WRX.

Honda could give the Accord Coupe 4WS and call it the Prelude.

Toyota could take the tC, swap in the Lexus 2.0t, and call it the Celica.

Nissan could build the IDX.

Honda would go crazier than that for a new Prelude. Given that the Prelude was sort-of Honda’s testbed, how about a small, low-slung AWD, four wheel steer, hybrid, dual clutch, turbocharged coupe that extensively uses advanced composites, aluminum components, and the latest in driver aid software to make driving both faster and more fun?

Honda would just make a chunkier civic (somehow) with a cvt.

Or they might pull a Lexus and hitch a CVT up to a torque converter auto.
